From noon to sunset next Sun, May 17, some of the local non-profits are sponsoring the first Reef Fest to raise funds and increase awareness about protecting the coral reefs and the environment. Admission is $5, and there will be entertainment, clinics, and items for sale. For more info:

I'm sorry that I will not be there. It sounds like a worth while event. Can you tell me why the park was named Smith Bay instead of Linquest?

The Lindqvist family owned the property for years and so the beach commonly went by that name but the original name was "Smith Bay" and when the government purchased the property they decided to revert to that original.
