I was wondering which rental car company is the best on St Thomas?
I will be visiting in June with my family and we are considering renting a car.
There are 5 of us, one is 6 years old.
I've read alot of the topics on here about renting a car but would really like info on which is the best to rent from without alot of headaches and problems.
Thanks!

Probably a rental car firm at the airport. Hertz, Avis, Budget.

Hetrz doesn't allow their rentals on the barge to STJ.
Check to make sure the company you rent from does.

We use Avis in the airport and had a very smooth, effortless transaction. Had a Kia Optima & LOVED it.

What about Dependable? I saw good and bad reviews on them?

Most of my guests rent from them and are pleased.

What about Discount Car.vi? Someone said they are off airport but have great cars and great customer service. Does anyone know about this rental agency? Thanks,

I've had guests rent from them and found it very time consuming in terms of them picking guests up at airport and actually getting paperwork, the car and guests "out the door and on the road."
If you have a couple hours to spare, it's fine.

All the rental agencies are pretty much on a par but the major negatives on this and other forums are generally pointed at Budget. Nothing wrong with their vehicles but at busy times of the year they apparently have a bit of an issue with overbooking and a bit of an attitude to go along with it! But there are also plenty of people who rent from them year after year and never have a problem!

United miles no longer has a rental agreement on STT, we went with Avis , after dealing with Budget and their #*$#@* employees in the past this has to be better ! I think they all have basically the same rate
