Rental car from st thomas to st john?

ok so we just booked our rental car for december with budget
as we always did

I TRIED TO DO HERTZ they had a nice rate and gave double airline miles etc...but as i was booking it the woman on the phone said all hertz cars cannot LEAVE THE ISLAND no ferries at all!!!
HERTZ???
amazing...i cancelled and booked budget.....

I used Cool Breeze Rentals on St. John. The people there were friendly and went out of their way to accomdate my late arrival.

Have you tried Avis? (www.avis.com)

Last year Avis allowed us to bring the car to St. John. And from what I can see Avis is less expensive than Budget. Also, use the Entertainment Book for a discount.

thanks...well we tried avis they said close to 699 for a mini van while budget was 429 plus fees was 490!
sure hope budget allows the car off the island! we always take it to st john never even thought to ask
