I'm so excited!!! We just made our reservations for 9/10 - 9/19 at the Wyndam Sugar Bay. The honeymoon of my dreams.

🙂

Jen: Don't let your questions get lost under another thread, like the Villa Jaime one!

You asked: How long does it take to go from one end of the island to the other?

Well, I have to say I have never done it! I did visit some people who live at the far western tip and it seemed like we were driving for hours! Besides, you'll be on vacation, so don't worry about the time. The roads are narrow and curvy, lots of hills. The speed limit is 35 mph. That'll slow you down a bit.

P.S. Make sure you get out of Sugar Bay once in awhile. Great restaurants in Red Hook, not too far away!

I have driven from one side to the other when I was staying in Copet Bay and wanted to visit the Nature Conservancy on the isthmus of Little St Thomas - across the sandbar called Mermaid's Chair. It took me about 1 hr, but that was with stopping to ask directions along the way and taking our time.

I was disappointed to find no access to the area I was seeking due to the construction in Botany Bay Estate area....and more disappointed in what that that new development might mean to that area. If you are on STT and you have a vehicle and feel alright with the roads (driving on left), do take some time to visit the West End and see another side to STT. For some seeking solitude and peace, you may just find something new to draw you back.
