I know that it's the "slow" season and am wondering which restaurants are closed for renovations/breaks-in-the-action.
How about Old Stone? What's happening there? And where is Chef Ric Ade now? Please tell me that Herve is open!
Coming down from Maine and are hoping to visit old haunts and favorite eateries!

Old Stone Farmhouse is closed now and has been for a month or two. No word on it's re-opening. Ric Ade had also taken over the Indigo Restaurant at Magens Point after Kirsten and Ryan opened (to rave reviews) their Northside, "13" restaurant while at Old Stone and is now out of there too. Where he will show up next - or not - is anybody's guess.

Katie who ran the wonderfully successful "ShinSen" sushi restaurant adjacent to Indigo opened up her new place, "Enkai" at Gregorie East also to rave reviews. The last info I had on Magens Point was that the chef who took over ShinSen after Katie left has now taken over the operation of Indigo. As the island turns!

Thanks. Old Stone was a great "date" destination. Robert's and Blue Moon, also - I guess due to their beach locations ---not to mention awesome cuisine and wonderful wine lists. Things do change - sometimes for good reason.

Bert,

You are right, we also are sorry to see the Old Stone Farmhouse closed for renovations until November given that it is very close to our home in Peterborg.

The great news is that Herve's is absolutely still open and in out opinion, the best restaurant on the island in terms of the food, the ambiance and the service. It seems to just keep getting better and better. Hope that you will have the opportunity to dine at Herve's while you are on island.

Where is "13" on the northside?

I went down to Hull Bay a couple of days ago to hunt for sea glass (my favorite activity when I lived on the point)
and grab a cheeseburger at Larry's.. Larry was gone and the new owners were a bit off-putting. I was bummed.
I ordered the burg medium rare and it came out like tartar! LOL When I said someting to the bartender, he shrugged and
said, "you ordered Medium rare". Needless to say I won't be going back there..it's too bad, really.

Tell me about Wikked! and the Fat Turtle..worth it? I strolled down the new YHG today since it was raining. Very shwanky..
I remember when it was the Windward Passage hotel all blown out from Marilyn...
