Hello,

Last year we were on a cruise visiting St Thomas and St John. That day we really felt in love with the two islands and decided that we would return there for a longer holiday. Now we can't waith to return and are looking at the opportunities to get to the islands from Holland (Europe). This gives some problems. Tickets to Puerto Rico are very expensive and even then we will have to take a small plane to take ius to St Thomas. I was wondering if anyon could tell me how many planes a day leave from miamai airport and how much a return ticket is.

P.s. really enjoy reading this site and it is really helpfull, not just for this vacation but also last year when we were on the explorer of the seas. Throgh the messageboards we decided to visit Trunk Bay and had a beautiful day

Many thanks

The easiest way to find out would be to check the websites of the different major airlines that fly to St.Thomas. Some of them are even non-stop from several east coast cities like New York, Newark, Miami and Charlotte to name a few. These airlines include American Air, Continental, USair and Delta. I know for sure that American flies non-stop out of JFK in New York, Continental out of Newark New Jersey and USair out of Charlotte, North Carolina. We have flown these routes already.

Airfare fluctuates depending on season and if the airlines are running specials. The general trend is that it is cheapest in the summer months of July to September and even October.

I know I did not answer your Miami question but hope this helped.

Good luck

Marco,
as the earlier post suggest, I would contact the individual airlines. I'm not sure how the flight volume (MIA-STT)will help you out, but please let me know as I always learn new things on various boards. A sample fair, using American, from Mia-Stt is now priced at $470+ taxes & fees. You can pinpoint your schedule to get a better idea of costs involved. Good luck!

Hello,

Your best bet might be to call American and ask how many direct flights they offere between those two airports STT and MIA...

I looked on the AA.com web site and it only seems to pull up one direct flight from MIA to STT and then several combinations from MIA through San Juan, Puerto Rico to STT. A 5:10pm flight from MIA to STT is the one it pulls up for a direct flight.

Not sure this would work for you, I recall a friend that choose to fly through one of the other islands as she was heading to France... she flew through St. Martin I believe and found a cheaper rate that way. But I tried the same and didn't have the same luck. But you could try that as well and see if that works for you - but remember you would still have to get from St. Martin to St. Thomas which is still a ticket around $250 so might not be worth it. Look at the different options and then call the airlines or look on their web sites.
