Sorry for, once again, throwing out a restaurant question.

But, looking for your suggestions & comments for the most Romantic restaurant on St. John with a great sunset view & good food, also.

Looking for a place that has "the whole package".

Will be celebrating a special birthday & would love to pick the "perfect place".

Thanx!

See a message list that started with a post from "crickett" dated March 1, 2006 he was looking for the same thing.

Also see a message list that started on 2/13/06 by poster "lbrlwyr"

We plan on trying The Balcony and ZoZos.

I would 2nd The Balcony and Zozo's. Both on the water at Cruz Bay. Food was good.

The restaurant at Caneel Bay is very hard to beat for sunset and is 1st class all the way. We prefer the Turtle Bay Estate House, there is a dress code, however it is not to formal.

You can check it out at their website: www.caneelbay.com

You will not be disappointed in your evening.

Enjoy

Lol, while the view lacks the Fish Trap was awsome. I would rather eat there than fight off bugs on the water..and this happens. The fish trap was awsome!!

While Zozo's and The Balcony are both on our list of favorites, I think that Asolare has a more "romantic" atmosphere and view, as well as excellent food. Make reservations and ask for a table right along the rail.

I think Chateau Bordeaux is a pretty amazing place for a special dinner. No sunset view, but an astonishing view. You want to get the earliest dinner reservation that you can, because the view is a major part of the experience. If you're there after dark, the place doesn't seem particularly special. Unless you're there around a full moon.

Even if you don't have dinner there, it's well worth stopping by in the afternoon for a drink. A pretty amazing location.

ZoZos for the sunset
Chateau Bordeaux for early evening view of the East End and beyond
Asolare for "the whole romantic package"

as a chef and a foodie who likes great all around experiance the only place on StJ with service a view and food is Asolare...I find the reference to good food at zozo comical as well as c+ service at best......only an opinion of course

Well, I've made it clear here and on another forum that Zozo's is not my bag. Had a bad experience there with the staff and policies regarding young children not being made clear at the time of an 8 person reservation. Made us feel like second class citizens.

Now that I've voiced that opinion, there are others who have experienced this snobbish service as well.

I'd rather eat a decent meal at a place with great service than a great meal at a place that makes me feel crappy.

The young adults at Chateau Bordeaux made hubby and I feel like kings and queens. Filet was melt-in-your-mouth. View is beautiful but have to get there when it's still light out. If you don't catch it for dinner, grab a beer on the deck at lunch. View's the same and the breeze is nice. Then, grab a nice piece of jewelry at the stand and hit the road again!

You may want to consider the ultimate in romantic dinner.

If cost is not the main driver and ambiance is what it is all about.

Condsider a private yacht charter for the evening. You cannot beat the view. Many of the boats have 1st class chefs and will prepare EXACTLY what you want for a perfect dinner.

Great Food
Great Views
Very private
Moonlight swim

Sounds good to me....

I have a recommendation if you are looking for the ultimate
