We're getting ready to book Sandcastle on Virgin Gorda. Just wondered if anyone has stayed there. Any info or comments would be greatly appreicated. By the way, this will be a Christmas trip. Thanks.

First of all, let me tell you how JEALOUS I AM OF YOU!!! To me, this is my favorite location of all times. We stayed right next to Sandcastle in Beach . My family and another family stayed on Mahoe Bay in the spring of 2004 and absolutely loved it. We actually got to chatting to the owner of Sandcastle one morning while strolling the beach and learned he went to college in the same town that we live.
Their are a group of about five villas right in a row on the beach. Sandcastle is the last one, which gives it the most privacy. When we were there, the owner didn't rent out the extra seperate bedroom.
The beach and water are perfect. We snorkeled everyday right out our front door. Spent hours on our stomachs just floating around having the opportunity to view all kinds of sealife. Sea turtles, exotic fish and even a few baby sharks. (Locals said they were harmless- about 18" in size)
Our weather was perfect in May. I'm sure it will be equally nice during December. It's a quiet island, not alot of crazy nightclubs etc.... Rent a car an go explore. Always bring along your bathing suits and snorkel gear as you will most likely come across beaches that you want to discover.
If you have any other questions, you can get back to me. Have a wonderful time!!

Gail, Thanks for your info. I'm so excited I can't stand it. I keep hearing about resturants just a short walk down the beach from Sandcastle. Did you go to any of them- any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Divapam-

We walked down to a place called Giorgio's which was excellant. Northern Italian with a great view of the water.
Other than that one, we drove everywhere.
You can also arrange for someone to come out to the villa and cook for you as well. Thats always fun. If you're interested, I can try to find the chef who did that for us.

Hope this helps,
Gail

Gail, thanks for the info. I have heard of that resturant. I believe my mother in law has already talked to a chef about coming to the house at least once. Thanks anyway. If you think of anything else that would be helpful, just shout out. It's gonna be a long year waiting on this trip.
