Maybe they got stuck for a few extra days because of the snow storm...
That would be a tough break 😎

I wish that was the deal. On our last day we received a phone call that my husband's daughter was found dead in Beaverdam lake in VA. So we have been in VA since Monday. It seems like a lifetime ago since we were in STJ. I will try to do a trip report when we return home which should be sometime this weekend.

Times like this should always remind us to give blessings for each day no matter where we are. A passing is never easy and often not understandable to many. Always try to remember you have never lost them if you keep them in your heart.

Visit reports can wait, be with family.

I want to thank everyone for all your thoughts and prayers. We got back home from VA on the 7th and that afternoon our water heater went out and flooded the garage, kitchen and dining room. When it rains it pours. This past weekend was our first full weekend home since our trip so it was spent unpacking and doing laundry.
It seems like forever since we were in STJ. We had a great time. And Maria Villa was fantastic. The views were awesome!!! There is some construction going on below the villa but it wasn't enough to annoy any of us. The guys actually loved "overseeing" production every morning while we had coffee and breakfast on the patio. We didn't make it to Zozo's for my birthday which was okay. We went to Cruz Bay on that day for us girls to do some shopping. The guys parked themselves at the Waterfront Bistro Bar. By the time we returned they were feeling no pain. So we just stayed there for dinner. The meal was great. And so were the views. The bartender MJ was fantastic. All of us that went on this trip have been friends for years and get along great. That being said, when I go on vacation I like to get up early and explore. They did not. Which was okay but we didn't see all the beaches I wanted to see. The only one we went to was Cinnamon Bay. The water was cold and choppy so no snorkeling. We did get to see a wedding on the beach. We went on a BVI excursion with New Horizons on the Breakaway. It was fun but seemed to be a little hurried. I didn't get the fascination with the Soggy Dollar. It wasn't worth the swim to me. I'd just as soon stayed at Diamond Reef snorkeling. We did make it to Skinny's and they do have a great burger. We took a cab instead of driving our rental which turned out to be a good idea.
That is about all I can think of right now. (I'm at work and need to be working on getting caught up.) I will try to post some pictures later.
Oh, I left some drink umbrellas and umbrella straws at the villa for the next occupants. Enjoy.

sandrasjunk,

Thank you so much for taking the time to jot your notes down. Your return to the states were under some awful conditions.

Thanks for the the umbrella straws - I PROMISE to use them and toast your group every time we use them.

Everyone knows the key to a good cocktail is the quality of ice and the umbrella straw on the finish. 😀

Bnsilly,

There is a review of Villa Bijou on that "other" VI Forum under "St John Hotel & Villa Review" section. It's dated 3/3/09. It's a really detailed review.
Tom...When you leave Villa Maria heading back to town Bijou is on the right just down from Maria. I think it is right across from Oceana. There is alot of foliage and about the only thing you can see from the road is the driveway.

sandrasjunk,

Or for that matter any recent visitors,

My sweetie was wondering how you would rate the pool water temp.

Cold - (I hope not)
Cool
Refreshing
Pleasant
Relaxing
Too Warm - (I doubt this one)

From the pics on line to me it looks like the pool has a west/northwest orientation? So if that is correct there will be little to no morning sun on the pool - Is that true?

The pool is kind of cold. When you first get in it sort of takes your breath, but then it's fine. If the wind is blowing when you get out you get alittle cool which I like. When we were there only two of us got in the rest were wusses. The pool is shaded for a brief time in the am but the deck is not. If you look at the pictures online where the lounge chairs are that spot is always sunny. I will look through my pictures tonight and see if I have any of the pool during the morning. I don't think I do but I will look. Wish I was going back tomorrow. Shoot, if I'm going to wish, I wish I was going back today!!!

Bnsilly

You're welcome.8-)

Sandra and bnsilly,

Ok here is Villa Maria

Now looking down from the heavens

My guess would be Villa Maria is number 1 so that would make Villa Bijou ___________? Or is 1 wrong?
