My husband and I spent a week at Sapphire Beach in 2009 and loved it - beautiful beach, great location. I am concerned, however, because it seemed to be on a downhill path. We want to go back but want to make sure it is in good shape, not rundown. Is it?

Definitely on a upswing. We have a new dedicated board and improvements are ongoing.

How accurate are the calendar of events listed in St Thomas weekly?
Under calendar of events it list Sapphire Beach having entertainment every Sunday at 2:00.
Does anyone know if this is true?
Thanks

No, the Sapphire Sunday music ended a few years ago - that info is totally outdated.

Too bad that they don't have the beach party anymore. Loved going to that!

There may be a a lot of mis-information regarding Sapphire. Some rental agencies are still saying that it is a full resort. Shame on them. It has been dead for over three years now. They keep advertising and get the people down and then say it is being worked on. Shame!

Enjoy the beach and accept the status of Sapphire Resort. Someday it will come back and be even better than it was before.

Thanks for all the information on Sapphire.
My husband and I have been visiting Sapphire for years, so I was just a little excited to hear things were changing.
Though the Sunday beach party has yet to return the beauty of the beach will more than make up for it.

We got married on the point of rocks and spent our honeymoon at Sapphire Beach....Loved It! Didn't miss any of the fancy amenities at all.

"billd", are you the personal friend of George E. and share a common friend Bill W.?

We were just there last week - they appear to be updating the resort on Sapphire beach now.

Lest anyone be confused, I think what you were seeing was simply general maintenance and particularly in light of the damage caused by Otto. There is no major renovation currently going on at Sapphire.

Health and safety issues were addressed first. These don't make a lot of difference in appearance, but are the most important. The marina had some repairs and now the wood railings are being replaced.

There is noting new at Sapphire. The owners and the land owner are still dead locked. So what ever you saw was not a resolution to the problems that they have. I had friends stay there and there unit was OK, but not perfect. The screen sliding door was jammed and the screen broken, the frig did not work well but did get cool, and the toilet ran. And there was a guy sleeping on the beach, but not on Sapphire Resort property. And Antillies still says it is a full resort on their web. He is still there. But in general the room was very good and it was priced very well.

We all hope that they resolve their problems.

Billd us right, Antilles site needs to be updated. To assure you get an updated unit, rent through VRBO or Cyberrentals. This way you see photos and read reviews of the exact unit you are renting.
