Anybody have any information concerning the Saphire Beach Resort. I loved the beach, the proximity to red hook, and all the activities they offer. While I was enjoying the beach, I was speaking to a couple that was staying there. They stated that the restuarants were closed, and that the hotel was providing a shuttle into town so the guests could have a restuarant to eat at. I would love to book another trip and stay there, but I would like to stay somewhere with a restaurant on site. Does anybody have any update on what is going on with this resort. Thanks!!

Nick: As said before, the Sapphire restaurant and the beach bar are presently closed and new operators for same are being sought.

The Azure restaurant remains open but, unrelated to issues concerning the latter, the current lease is up in August and it's my understanding (but purely hearsay) that the present operators will not be renewing their lease because the condo association has upped the rent quite drastically in the proposed new lease. This won't affect your vacation time at all.

And the restaurant deals have nothing to do with the maintenance of the pools or the beach or anything else so don't get your knickers unnecessarily in a twist!

Chill out and just look forward to enjoying your upcoming vacation in a wonderful place. If you don't have a great stay at Sapphire then I promise that if you PM me or post on this forum after your visit and document what awful things occurred, I'll eat a hat or two!
Cheers!

Nick: Restaurant Azure is there at Sapphire Village and is much better than all the Sapphire Beach restaurants ever were at their best!! Azure is next to the pool so, while it isn't a swim-up bar, you won't have far to go for refills!

I don't know of any resorts that permit non-guests to use their pools, although people trespass.

We stayed at the villas too. I say go. it's a 1/4 mile to Duffy's and you'll have a great time there anyway.

The pools were very clean or I wouldn't have swam in them. We saw a man checking the pools everyday.

When we were down there one bar/restaurant was still open...Azure. We never went there because we were always out running around doing something.

Can I ask you what building you're staying in?
