I read on trip advisor that the dive shop, budget and concierge closed as of Sunday is that true? We will be there on Saturday.

Yes, it's true. Check with the owner of the condo you are renting. They should be able to provide you or point you to everything you need.

Just talked to her she just found out last night and is purchasing snorkel and chairs for our arrival. Can't wait to get there!

Yes it is confirmed with my future condo rental. She said that the association is also purchasing 200 lounge chairs (February) for resident use only. Also bought snorkle gear for her unit for us to use.

Everything is apparently moving along smoothly. The tour buses are not now bringing loads of cruise ship day trippers to the beach so the beach is now a lot cleaner than it formerly was after their departure. The current new batch of new chairs and loungers have worked out well and another load is expected very soon. The last I heard a few days ago was that the Banana Cabana is doing business as usual; the Sapphire Bar and Grill runners are still taking order on the beach, as is Senor Pizza - and the coral is taking less of a beating! It seems from several trip reports on other travel forums that visitors renting there are experiencing no problems at all.

What about the parking situation?
Where does one park if they want to spend the day at Sapphire Beach?

That is a good question. The spots behind the buildings are for owners and guests. The owner of the property where the beach parking was located has blocked that area off. Hopefully someone that is currently at Sapphire can answer.

SeaBreeze

There really is no parking at this time if you are not staying at the resort. You would have to take a taxi to and from or the dollar bus.

Are you sure about that? A poster on another forum was visiting STT in the last couple of weeks, drove down there and was given a parking pass (no fee) from the security guard at the gate and told where to park..

Now I'm really confused about the parking situation at Sapphire.

The guard on duty today say that it's not yet been a problem but is "confusing" and he hopes it gets sorted out soon. There is parking down at the marina.
