Hi all,

Have gotten such great advice on my relocation to the island thus far. However I need a really good description of this place where my company wants to place me. It appears that Sapphire Village/Condos/Resort is all one place...but I cant seem to find any pictures except for some VERY scary ones of a studio and then some VERY nice ones of a condo. I need to be able to request exactly what I am looking for to the company but I need to make sure I am requesting the APPROPRIATE one to fit my needs. PLease help and direct me to some up to date photos of this place!!!
Especially from other contractors who have taken assignments on this island.
I can't wait to get there!!

Thanks

Sapphire Village and Sapphire Beach Resort are not the same place. Sapphire Resort is right on the beach, Sapphire Village is just up the hill, but not beachfront.

There are quite a few differences in all the units in Sapphire. Friends have one up on Sapphire village. It was a small unit, but if it's just for yourself, no problem. It had a separate bedroom, bath, small living room and kitchen which looked out over the marina.

The unit we stay in is basically a large hotel room. One room with a queen bed, a table to eat at and nice sized living room with a kitchen that is right on the beach. That's Sapphire Beach. I wouldn't recommend anymore then 2 people in that unit because you would have to have other people sleep on a pull out.

Your best view in Sapphire Beach although the Village is up high and has a nice view too.

There are FOUR complexes around the Sapphire Beach area.

Sapphire Village is up on the hill and overlooks Sapphire Resort and the Marina which is part of Sapphire Resort. As said before the rooms are not very big and some of the apartments are a little on the old side. There are a few pools around the property and a restaurant called the Grape Vine. It is a little walk down the hill to Sapphire Beach.

The next location is Sapphire Resort and there are several buildings right by the water and one that is behind the marina. Rooms are a little bigger than the Village and tend to be newer. There are two types of rooms. The first are on two floors and they are like hotel rooms with a very small kitchen. The next two floors have a two story apartment. Down stairs is just like the ones on the first two floors and there is a bedroom on the top floor. There is a local guy who serves hamburgers and such out of a cart. All the restaurants are closed due to a legal battle between the condo owners and the land holder.

The third complex is Crystal Cove , or Sapphire Bay Condos West as the association is called. The rooms are the largest and they vary in age depending on how much the owner wants to put into the property. They are right on the beach.

The last complex is Sapphire House. Perhaps the least desirable but the best price. They are not on the beach. Rooms are a little bigger than Sapphire Village but not as large as Crystal Cove.

There are also several private places in the Sapphire Beach area. You should tell your relocation company that you want to choose the place you live in.

If you plan to stay for three months you will probably get what is available. There is a big reason that I tell people to do a pre-move visit. They can set things up, including a place to live. That avoids the problem you have.

It is only 3 months and you will be working 1/3 of it - somewhere in the Sapphire complex will likely suffice.
