Hi Everyone,
We have been to STT a number of times but have never stayed at Sapphire Village. I'm seeing some of the prices on VRBO and I was hoping someone could fill us in on their impressions, etc. of the units at Sapphire Village.
Thanks.
John

I visited a unit at Sapphire Village 3 years ago....our friends were staying there for 4 months.

Each unit is individually owned and its upkeep is, of course, unique to the owner.

The unit that we saw was "OK". It was small, worn, but clean.

It's best to ask a lot of questions and view (current) photos.

VRBO owner has Sapphire beach separated into three catagories. Sapphire Village which is up on the hill and a walk to the beach, Sapphire Resort which is on the beach and Crystal Cove which is also on the beach.

Go to trip advisor and look up what is said by each of these three reosrts and then go to VRBO to find a unit.

We stayed at Sapphire Beach Resort for our Honeymoon in early August. We knew that we wanted the east end, and searched VRBO for a location that would give us beach front exposure within our budget. Because we wanted beach front, Sapphire Village was out. Crystal Cove was less money than Sapphire Beach Resort, but to be honest it sort of reminded us of a low budget tourist court from the old days of south Florida. Not our deal. After deciding that we wanted Sapphire Beach Resort, we began in earnest to find a unit on VRBO, looking for current photos and current positive referrals. We found both listed as "Palm One" and could not have been happier with the location, the unit, the owner, and the price. In everything, you get what you pay for and we found this unit to both fit our budget, as well as expectations. We will use this rental unit in the future, guaranteed!

Thanks to everyone for their input. No question this has reminded me that (especially on STT) you get what you pay for!

I have stayed at Sapphire Village many times. I rent Lucy's Jewel every year. Nice studio and the owners are very nice. The pools and grounds are well kept and the staff is always very helpful. Just a few minutes walk down to Sapphire Beach. which in my opinion is one of the nicest in ST. Location is close to Red hook ferry and shopping and nice place to have lunch or dinner.

Have you considered the Point Pleasant Resort?

It's just up the road from Sapphire and very close to Coki Beach.

we have stayed twice in Sapphire Resort, love it! We stayed in a unit, found on VRBO, owned by Yehuda. 14 steps to the water! he has pictures on his site. loved being close to the ferry, restaurants etc. Not a big fancy resort, but it was everything we needed and the price was great too. We are looking forward to trip #3 to Sapphire Resort

We have been to Pt. Pleasant. We were there in 2003 with friends. The view is one of the best on the island and the unit was fine.
However, the best part of PP was the Renaissance. We used their beach and beach chairs, had breakfast and lunch there and even rented a catamaran which I took my daughter out on. Also, the Renaissance had a trimaran that we went on for a snorkeling trip. When we stayed at Sugar Bay this March I peered in to compound and looked on the beach and the place looked very dead. The beach PP has is so incredibly small you would want to use the one in the former Renaissance compound but the whole thing is now kind of strange. The other problem with PP is the parking. There is not enough when the Agave Terrace is open and we even had our rental car wind up with a large dent in it one evening but of course no one left a note. But on the plus side we went to Agave Terrace twice this past March and the food was great! (We went when it opened so we could find some parking!)
