We will be on STJ in a couple of weeks, and were wondering about the quality of the snorkeling gear that the villas supply. We are certified divers, but only plan to snorkel once or twice while we are there. We could haul our masks and fins on the trip, but we would like to avoid that hassle if the equipment supplied at the villas are adequate. Our villa rental is in Rendezvous Bay, and apparently, we can just walk to Ditleff Point, which is supposed to be good snorkeling.

Anyone have reliable info on this?

I have been traveling to STJ for 20 years and I have never rented a villa that had snorkle equipment (maybe the kids toy stuff). Bring your own or rent it. Don't expect the villa to provide equipment for you.

I have only been to one villa that had snorkle gear and it was all junk.
Most villas do not have it.

You can rent it for a few days from Low Key or Cruz Bay Watersports.

Ditleff Point is now a gated community, I do not believe that you can walk onto the point any longer.

Kingsmez,
You have to contact your agent to get more details, but as those above said, very rare for the villa to provide snorkel gear. One more thing to deal with on a same day turn-around with cleaning and all! Either bring your gear or rent!

I own "Sail Away Villa" and I provide snorkel eqip... as well as chairs, floats, beach toys, coolers... I would think most rental villa's would suppy these items. Guests ask me what to bring all the time and I tell them, "your clothes, everything you have at your own home I have."
