Our family of 6 will be in STT, STJ and Tortola for 2 weeks in mid-July. We would like to take a snorkeling trip to The Indians and The Caves (Norman Island). Is there any boat we can hire from either Red Hook, Cruz Bay or even East End (STJ)? Thank you.

Thank you Koen. I just checked out Calypso's Bad Kitty, it's what I was looking for except that it may be too rushed with JVD included.
I would much rather spend more time at the Baths/Devil's Bay, The Indians and the Caves.

Wasn't really all that rushed, except the day we went.... two people received jelly fish stings at the caves so we were cut short.

With 6 people look into a private trip that does what you want - price effective for your size group - why go on a boat with lots of other people and an agenda not your own.

I'm just curious and have a question for the poster, dierenarts. When did the jellyfish incident occurr and what type of jellyfish? The reason I ask is because 3 years ago I was one of two people stung by a Portuqese man of war jellyfish at the caves of Norman island. I only know the other guy was about 14 or 15. Those type of jellyfish are supposedly rare for that area. Thanks for any information you can give me. By the way I highly recommend the Bad Kitty. Plan to use them again here in about 2 and half weeks. Thank You.

Call Capt John with Palm Tree Charters, you can tailor the day to do exactly what you want

We have used Stormy Petrel or Priates Penny for the last 8 years to do this trip, never have been disappointed in either boat, they know what they are doing. If you want you can hire them just for yourself for the day and they will go pretty much where you want to go and do what you want.

They will pick you up in STJ at Park Dock.

I think the cost for private trip is $1380.00 plus tip. Not bad depending on how many in your group, they will take up to 10 I believe.

Try Dohm's Water Taxi. We use them to and from St. John and for day trips. The crew is wonderful and Julie in the office is so easy to work with. They operate out of the National Park Dock in Cruz Bay
