Hello, Everyone!

I visited St.Thomas and St. John back in 2005, and Tortola last year.

I'm all about beaches, sun, Carib beer and where English is spoken and dollars are accepted.

I'm looking to travel to St. Croix and need some suggestions

I don't like big "name-brand" hotels.

I prefer the smaller and simpler ones.

(I don't go to the VI's to stay in my room!)

I'm 56 and not into "nightlife", so quiet is just fine.

I'll get a rental car.

Any suggestions as to a good place to stay?

Thanks!

Club Comanche has just reopened in C'Sted and that property is a real slice of STX history:

Then there are some of the smaller hotels in C'Sted, like the Caravelle. There is Hotel on the Cay, across the bay from the C'Sted boardwalk, there is The Tamarind Reef - good snorkeling, restaurants, right at the Green Cay marina for day trips to Buck Island; on the west end there is Cottages by the Sea and Sandcastles on the Beach. There are also the condo resorts like Coakley Bay, Gentle Winds, etc. And, then there are small villas, some with beach access - like Lymin' Beach House on the east end, just around the curve of white sand beach from the Divi http://www.vacationstcroix.com/LyminBeachHouse/villa_Lymin_Beach_House.html.

Hope this gives you a start...

Hands down, go to The Palms at Pelican Bay. We were just there in November and had a wonderful time. It's small, beautiful scenery, easy to find and the staff are awesome.
