Anyone out there know of a nice villa, cottage or condo to rent while on St Croix this fall.
I have found a few places on line, but would like to stay at a place that someone else has.
2 bed, water view, would like but doesn't have to have a pool/hot tub, air conditioning a must! (we learned that last year!)
Appreciate any help.
This will be our first trip to STX. Went to STT & STJ last year. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! STJ.(We are planning another week back there.)
Thanks,
Cheryl

Cheryl - we stayed at Island Time on the east end of STX this past April and thoroughly enjoyed the villa and the location. Here's a link to my review, with pictures:

For villa rentals, I would recommend Vacation St. Croix, an on-island villa management company. www.vacationstcroix.com. I also toured a number of villas while I was there so if I can be of any help, post or PM me. If you check for my overly long 6 part trip report :D, I included pictures of the villas I toured in a couple of the segments.

not sure if you are looking for a condo or home...we have a 3 bdrm. condo, east end at coakley Bay. Website is rentavilladirect.com, go to St. Croix, then 3 bdrm villa, then Banana Winds. There are also a lot of other villas to check out. good luck..

Hi,
I've been away and just read your reply/post. Even though ours is a 3 bdrm. we only charge by the amount of people staying there.

I think that's the norm, isn't it? I know Donna Ford does that. We're a couple, but always get the three bedroom condo for the price of a couple. Nice to have extra room to spread out the suitcases, etc. I love the view from Coakley Bay, especially the upper condos!

I stayed at Hotel on the Cay, a timeshare and LOVED i!! It was nice to be in town and have a "beach" right there. The price was good too. I loved taking the little boat home everynight.

Thanks everyone for all your help & suggestions on where to stay for our 2 week vacation on St. Croix this fall. Can't wait!
MargyZ came through for us with an awesome villa on the east end of the island. Amonoka. It looks & sounds like our kind of place.
Now the real planning can start!
Still waiting on the airfare to hopefully come down a bit. $1,069.00 for 2 as of 7/21/09

Hope you guys heading to Amonoka all have a great time! I think you will will really like Amonoka - maybe some of the fruit trees on the property will be in bloom while you are there, too. I am so jealous - we have nothing planned until spring of next year. I am going to think of you enjoying that lanai and the view out over Buck Island. Hope you both post trip reports with some pix.

Sunnybeach: Airfare is nuts right now - I have been watching it for next spring and ORD to STX is running about $750 pp r/t - hope it comes down soon for you, too. I have it on YAPTA so they send me periodic e-mails of what the airfare is doing and the news has not been too good.

Have a great time, all!
