Good afternoon What is the best way to get to St Croix for a day trip? Should we fly on Seborne or ferry it? Thanks

The sea plane is a) much quicker and b) a lot of fun! One vote for Seaborne...

I agree. You will spend 1 hour round trip instead of 3 hours on the ferry.

I have also heard it is VERY rough some days on the ferry...Seaborne is fun, too! The ferry or Seaborne will put you out right at downtown, so everything is handy as far as shopping...if you need a car for the day, call Judi of St. Croix, she will meet you wherever you are..

While we were in STX, we met some people who took the Seaplane and they enjoyed it very much. That is how I would go if I was to travel from STX to STT (or the other way). That's my vote (if no one minds)

Both the seaplane and the ferry can be shut down for weather related reasons some days. If you suddenly need a plan B, you can also fly directly between STT and STJ on Cape Air. If you are only making a day trip, I strongly suggest flying rather than the ferry. The amount of time you save is worth the slightly higher price for the ticket when you only have one day to see all there is to see on STX. The seaplane is an experience in itself. For those who are coming for several days and are on a budget, the ferry might be the way to go. It's another kind of experience that can be fun on a nice day, but may be uncomfortable for anyone who gets seasick if the wind is up and the waves are tossing the boat around.

On the other hand. Couple of hours in rough seas and rum isn't all bad.
