I am looking to rent for a 4 bedroom villa on St.Croix for 10 days. Would like close to beaches, restaurant and with a view of the mountains or other islands.

Which part of the island would be the best?

Thanks

We have stayed on St. Croix several times, the last three times at Sugar Beach - we actually stayed in one of the 4-bedroom units and it was lovely. All the units are literally "walk onto the beach and into the water", there are tennis courts and a very nice pool designed around an old sugar mill tower. There is also a great snorkeling spot to the left. There is an okay restaurant within walking distance, via the beach, at the complex next door. It is a very short drive into Christiansted (less than 3 miles). I would highly recommend renting a car... you will want to explore the island anyway. Oh, you cannot beat their rates.. I believe a 4-bedroom in high season is $2095!! Check out their web site, www.sugarbeachstcroix.com Hope this helps...

Sugar Beach is NOT a villa. It is just another condo development. It is right on a nice sandy beach, but surrounded by projects and other distractions.

If you are looking for a villa you do not want Sugar Beach.

To find a St Croix villa go to one of the following websites.

www.enjoystcroix.com
www.stcroixislandvillas.com
www.vacationstcroix.com

there are also others to check out as well

I'm sorry deniseb - I certainly have no motive to mislead - stxer is correct, it is a condo NOT a villa (I did use the term "unit"), but we thought it was a very nice condo for the price and also it is, or was at the time we stayed there last in 2001, one of the nicer "condos" on the beach....I just thought it would be worth you looking into as an option... I hope you have a wonderful stay whereever you decide 🙂

Thanks for the replies guys. I am looking for a villa that's not in a development. I prefer more privacy than condo units allow for. I am sure that we will have a great time spicyfish, thanks for the well wishes.

As far as viewing other islands? Well, except Buck Island and Green Cay, we really can't see other islands. If the air is clear we can get a VERY long view of STT, STJ and Tortola -- but you have to have good eyesight and be up fairly high on the northshore.

Villa Dawn meets all of your requirements! It is close to beach, close to 2 restaurants (open air), great view of water one way and view of mountains from decks
www.VillaDawn.com
This is the greatest place- near Cane Bay north shore - near Off the Wall beach restaurant (open air) and another one (can't remember the name)
Kent Vreeland is owner and he is very professional and helpful. We stayed there in 2003 for 10 glorious days.

We have stayed 3 times at Villa Margarita on the beautiful North Shore. Its a guest house with new owners John & Adele a great couple from the mainland. There are no 4 bedroom units but they can accomodate you with 2 suites. Each has tv/a-c/fans/kitchenette/and are immaculately clean. They do a great happy hour every night and are RIGHT on the ocean. Next door is Gentle Winds condo with a beautiful sand beach you are free to use; other than that it is very isolated and quiet. They have a website at www.villamargarita.com with pics; or give them a call. Its a great place!

From certain areas on St. Croix, you can see St. Thomas, St. John, Tortola, Virgin Gorda to the north, Puerto Rico, Vieques and Culebra to the west, and Saba, Netherlands Antilles to the east. On REALLY clear days, you can even see buildings (which appear as white specks) on St. Thomas and at night you can see lights on St. Thomas.

I was going to suggest Villa Dawn as well. Although I have not stayed there, I have met people on various occasions who have, and they all stated that it is exactly as represented.

As far as seeing other islands, well, not so much. On a clear day you can sometimes see the islands to the north, especially if you are up in the hills.

Thanks for all the advice. Villa Dawn was not available and due to the number of people in our group, it was too small. We have decided on Vista Turquesa. The price is fantastic. Does anyone have any information about this villa? It is located in Judith's Fancy.

Any must sees in St.Croix?
