Hi everyone. My wife and I spent 7 fabulous days on St. John 2/6-2/13. We left so many things undone. Here are a few photos. I wish I could go back today. It's cold up here in MN.

Very nice shots. Did you use a polarizer filter?

I have never replied before to someone photos but I can't contain myself any longer. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am trying to change my plans for 4 weeks earlier then we planned. I won't know until Monday if we can change our plans. I along with most people on this board would love a trip report.

Hi Jay! Thanks for your comment about our pics. I did not use a filter. These were taken with a Canon Power Shot digital camera. Nothing special. This is the real color of the island and surrounding water. I was truly amazed! The pictures seem to take themselves on this beautiful island. I gained some inspiration from other members of this board who have posted pictures. Look back a few months and you will see some other, even better photos from people who really knew what they were doing.

Bill in freezing Minnesota!

Dawn, I too always loved seeing photos from other members trips. Thanks for the compliment. I will try to post a trip report soon. It has been hard trying to get back into the swing of things back home, but I will give a report a shot soon.

Ahhhh...thanks for transporting me back to STJ for a few minutes. Was that road in the pics the road to your villa? It reminded me of the read to Maho Bay campgrounds.

Thank you, Bill!

We are looking out at snow covered MA & counting down til we head to St. John in 54 days.

Your photos were amazing!

LOVED particularly: the moon over Maho, your sunset of Trunk Bay (not often photographed), the Cinnamon Bay shots and the palms against the sky on Cinnamon. Gorgeous shots.

You brought back memories of our trip with New Horizons II - that day was probably right up there with one of the highlights of our trip.

We were so inspired and excited after viewing your photos, that you actually made my husband & I look at our pictures from our trip last April.

Oh, and loved the Donkeys - we didn't see any last year & are hoping to on this trip.

Thank you again, for sharing! I, too, will anxiously to awaiting your trip report - with DETAILS, DETAILS - Love the long version!

Sue (& Jim)

Bluwater, glad to take you there. Funny, we have been back in iceland (MN) for 2 weeks now and I am still dreaming about the beauty of STJ. I took about 700 photos (not nearly enough now that I've been through them all) and they don't seem to get close to the real beauty of the island. The road you see is Ajax Peak Road right near the intersection of Centerline and North Shore Roads (at the Smoothie Stand). It lead us to Winsome House which was beautiful. It was very rocky in spots and quite steep. Thank God for 4WD!

Bill or anyone else, would you know what that construction is in the top center of this photo?
Thanks

Ahh, what great shots. Thanks for posting them!

Nice to see Ajax Mtn. road - we'll be returning there shortly to Creolla villa, perched high atop the ridge looking down over Coral Bay and across to Bordeaux Mtn. Hope my pictures end up looking as nice as yours 🙂

We're in the three-weeks-and-counting phase... I'm just pinching myself at this point!

Bill - Great shots! Which Canon PowerShot did you use? I was thinking of getting the SD450 for my trip in May. Thanks.

Thanks for the compliment! The bulk of the photos were with a Canon Powershot G5. It's a couple of years old but takes good pics. The rest were from an SD550 that I got for Christmas. It's small and easy to bring to restaurants. I also put it in a waterproof case to swim into beaches like at the Soggy Dollar and the Baths. At these places I was the only one with a camera so I was asked to take other people's photos too which was fun.

Crickett, thanks for the kudos. I remember the last few days before we left too. I didn't get much done either. Less than 4 days to go for you. WooHoo! I'm big-time jealous. Enjoy your time there. How long will you be there?
