I am looking for a nice place to stay in Cruz Bay for two nights. We wont have transportation so I thought we would be fine if we stayed within walking distance of town.

Any ideas??

Thanks!!
Jen

Depends on time of year. Suggest Gallows Point. Enjoy!

Chris I know how you feel - we haven't been back in 3 LONG years.

Too much work & too little time.

Now I just pray the weather is nice - it costs a lot to get there....I'm putting my order in for sunshine.

16 days woohooo

Clever & point taken.
I need a name change. My obsession (and lack of concentration at work) will grow as we approach our next trip in April.

Hi Jennybug,
I am sure that you will enjoy the Westin for 2 nights, and it will be a safe place in case of a storm. We stayed there last year. One of the best things about booking the Westin was the airport check in and air conditioned lounge followed by transportation to the Westin ferry and the fantastic cruise over to the property followed by the welcome cocktails at the Westin dock. The property is beautiful. The ac in the room was quiet enough to hear the tree frogs at night, and we stayed right on the beach which was nice to do.

We rented a car right there at the Westin and enjoyed St John. I wish we could have enjoyed the Westin but we didn't find it peaceful. The Westin caters to children and is so very kid friendly we found it overun with kids running rampant without supervision throughout the resort grounds, pool area, the beach, bar and restaurants too. We do like kids, but thought by the end of August all the kids would have slacked off.

Hi!
I'm new to the forum, but not to the Island! I love St. John - but haven't been able to visit for 6 years. I'm coming back on September 15th!! Can't wait! Anyway - wish I'd have seen this post before. If you're renting a Jeep, I suggest Cinnamon bay campground cottages, or Maho Bay camps / cottages. VERY VERY quiet, incredible views, a bit off the beaten path but the most breath-taking part of St. John (imho!!) Also, the cabs at the dock are readily available to take you anywhere you want to go. And if you get a chance, ya GOTTA go to Skinny Legs - best burgers EVER! :@)

We will be arriving on STJ by way of Jost Van Dyke - does the Westin provide airport transfer for your return flight??

Thanks

Jen,
I'm sure that the Westin would agree to take you on the Westin ferry, they may charge you I don't know. For us last year it was a free promotion. It makes several trips every day including taking guests on shopping trips to St Thomas and shuttling staff to and from work.

They take your luggage from your hotel door to the Westin ferry then put it on the van to the airport. It was very convenient.
