Hi all,
I am leaving for St John this Thursday AM, very excited!
I'm looking for a great restaurant to celebrate an anniversary on Friday night.
Ideally it'll be romantic, intimate, but somewhat casual. I'd love a beautiful view, could go there early for drinks and to see the sunset. We are staying at Gallow's Resort, so we'll go to ZoZos for sure, just wondering if this is the night we should stay at Gallows or venture somewhere else. I've done a bit of research and was thinking of these other spots, but I've read mixed reviews on all of them...

Asolare
Chateau Bordeaux
Stone Terrace

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Ideally I'm looking for good food, an intimate atmosphere, not too formal/pretentious, friendly (not stuffy) service.

I'm not even sure I can get in for this Friday since it's short notice, so your quick responses would be much appreciated!!! Thanks!

Hi Soxgirl (Go Sox!!)

There's a thread from about 2-3 weeks ago that went into some of this, which might be worth looking through for more detail.

My two cents: ZoZo's would certainly be a good bet - great view, lovely placement for both sunset and twilight (twinkling lights of STT), and very good food. Ditto for Asolare (though some find it either overpriced and/or pretentious).

If you opt for Chateux Bordeaux (which is a very nice restaurant and also has an awesome view to the east - not the sun setting) be sure to make an early reservation, because once it gets dark there is much less to see.

Nine days and counting...

Tage has a view of the ball field! BUT it has a wonderful atmosphere and superb food. Start at the bar with Will and let him whip you up one of his specialties. Save room for the white chocolate taragon souffle.
