Hi everyone,

This is my first post and I was hoping you all could help me out. My fiance and I were wanting to stay in a villa on St. John for our honeymoon at the end of April 2008. We would like a villa with both a hot tub and pool, preferably private but yet not too far from restaurants (and of course a nice view 😉 ). We would like to spend $1700-$2500 for a week rental. I would prefer the Coral Bay or East End area but I'm open to suggestions of other places on St. John. I have looked at many of the sites listed (i.e. Destination St. John, Carefree Getaways, Caribbean Villas, etc.) but I would like to hear from people who have seen these or stayed here in person.

We were thinking about possibly Seascape from Carefree Getaways or Splendore from Vacation Vistas. Has anyone stayed at these? Or any other suggestions that meet what we're looking for?

Thanks in advance

I asked this same question a few months ago helping my brother plan his honeymoon. Let me see if I can find the link to that thread. People were very helpful.

Also, I contacted the different rental agencies and told them what he was looking for and they recommended properties for me. Everyone was very helpful.

We have stayed at Villa Cielomar in the past and have another trip booked with them for next year. They do have a pool and a hot tub on premises. We loved the location which is closer to Cruz Bay than Coral Bay. We also rented a Jeep while we stayed there and were able to park out front along the side of the road with no problems. What we really loved was that our place was quiet and peaceful, but we could also walk into Cruz Bay for drinks, dinner, grocery, etc. as desired. Here is their website if you want to check it out...it is also extremely reasonable...

Good luck with your wedding plans and enjoy STJ for your honeymoon - you won't be disappointed!

Lindsay,
check out www.coralbayvacations.com . Go to there site and look at Astral Ridge, it's a bit more than you were looking for price wise but I can guarantee you would not be disappointed. My husband and I were married in St. John a few years back and we stayed there.....................OUT OF THIS WORLD. Totally worth the money. Pool, hot tub, secluded from the world yet a few minutes drive from awesome restaurants and bars. The villa is top notch, high end, beautiful sunsets/sunrises, quiet, private, oh so clean and very romantic. We were married on Cinnamon Bay, snorkeled all day, dinner in town and then retreated to our hot tub and private villa. You can't go wrong! check it out. If you want more info just e-mail me at [email protected] and I can give you more details. We've gone back every year to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't be happier. Unfortunately this Feb. we couldn't get in but we are hoping to return in '09. Susan the owner has gone above and beyone to make this villa a truly amazing experience. Hope this helps and email if you want. Best of luck Jill

Have you seen this one?

It has a pool and hot tub. It's in coral bay, and the views are beautiful!

We always rent from http://www.greatcaribbeangetaways.com, the prices are reasonable and the villas are nice.

We stayed in East End for our honeymoon but we found it to be too far from everything. We stayed in Coral bay at periwinkle and we loved it, the villa has a hot tub and pool and the view is amazing.
When we come with the family we stay in La barracuda but this is closer to Cruz bay and has 3 bedrooms.

Good luck in your search

Thank you all so much for the suggestions.

Jill--Astral Ridge looks like it is exactly what we were looking for. Unforunately it's booked for when we'd be there though. (Starting April 28 and stay 7-10 days).

I will also check into the other suggestions.
