We finally be coming back - Yeehaw! My wife and I made our first trip to St. John 3 years ago and have been longing to get back there ever since. This time it looks like we will be bringing the kids with us, (ages 10,12,15,17) so I am looking for a 3-4 bedroom villa. Trip would be late May or early June 2011. Would like a pool, 6-person hot tub, and air conditioning. Maximum cost around $4500 a week, but would like to spend less if possible.

Any suggestions? Thanks everyone!

IA Joe

We have stayed here at Solaris. It was wonderful for a group. No hot tub, but an extra large pool.
Bedrooms are A/C, but up on the hill we never turned it on. Nice breeze all the time.
Cateredto folks are great to work with also.

We finally returned too after 5 years...waited too long! I HIGHLY 100% recommend Mayan Sky Villa. I searched up and down for months for the perfect home. We had 2 families - 4 adults and 4 teens. I rented through Viva Vacations. They were awesome. The villa is shown on their website and it also has it's own: www.mayanskyvilla.com
I need to write a review of our experience. In short, it was perfect. The location is in Upper Carolina just above Coral Bay. Ideal for reaching the north beaches and for enjoying the view. It has 3 bedrooms - both couples took a room each, which were master suites with king beds, and the teens shared the third room which had a king bed and futon. Pool was fantastic. Kitchen and living is gorgeous...the pictures don't do it justice. Feel free to message me with questions!

I forgot to mention Mayan Sky is 100% air-conditioned! I believe that is not common on St.John. We rented in July so it was much appreciated. I think if you go in a cooler month, it isn't as much of an issue because of the trade winds.

My brother has stayed at Mystic Ridge several times and was quite pleased. I have also seen it, and it is quite nice. I believe they recently put air in the bedrooms. It is a beautiful place and has a very nice pool and hottub. It's on the top of Beadeaux Mountain. It has a view if you are standing at the pool but not if you are sitting down at the pool (this was about 3 years ago;they could have trimmed the greenery by now. You would have the view from the upstairs bedroom I think. I stayed at places with much better views, but my brother loved this place. I has a luxury feel which my places have not had. Sorry, I don't know the cost. It is quite close to Maho Beach which is one of our favorites. Hope you have a great trip!

IA Joe:

I have been do much searching lately and thought this villa might work for you all (we are going in July 2011 for 11 nights, yes!).

It is Villa Wind Chime on www.seaviewhomes.com. I spoke with Mark Shekleton. We have not rented this particular place yet, but it is on our short list. It has a 4 person hot tub, AC, pool, on Gift Hill, awesome views, 2 kings, 2 twins (3 bedrooms) and just beautful grounds. Maybe this might work for your family? Not sure if one of the kings splits into twins. For mom and dad, there would be a private cottage, and it looks like your kids might be old enough to leave in the main house, with mom and dad just a short holler away? Just lovely.......

Enjoy your trip!

Look at Summer Wind on Bordeaux Mtn. The price is right and it has everything you need. It would be great for your family since you have older children. There's a nice pool and a decent size hot tub too. Easy driveway all paved and easy access to the northshore beaches.

Our rental home, Sol Inclination, meets all your needs. We have a pool, hot tub and air conditioning. There is a main house with 2 bedrooms and a guest house with two bedrooms. The panoramic sunrise to sunset views still amaze us.
Good luck and enjoy wherever you stay!

We rented the indigo villa last June. It is a little more then the 4500, but it was worth the difference in price. It had everything , except a hot tub. The villa was spectacular, better then the pictures. Air conditioning for the whole villa. Wonderful covered porch with three separate seating areas. The unit was stocked with every imaginable thing one could want from cook wear , serving pieces, dishes ect., WI Fi, huge screen TV, games, wonderful stero system with sound that can be directed to the whole unit, including bedrooms.floating devices for the pool, great view. Close to Cruz Bay, easy run to the stores and main town. It was spotless upon arrival and had a welcome basket ( nice touch). YOu should check it out.
