Me and my wife are planning a weeks trip to St John the first of November 2008 and want to rent a 1 or 2 bedroom villa. We are currently looking at these three villas St John Livin, Drakes Lookout, Island Dreams.

Has anyone stayed at one of these and have a recommendation?

We are looking in the 1,900.00 to 2,000.00 a week price range with a pool. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks,

My husband are going to STJ in June for our 4th trip. We are staying at Villa Cielomar. We have stayed there previously and really enjoyed it. It is a comfortable walk into Cruz Bay and it also has a pool which we used quite a bit. It is very nice without being luxury and therefore out of reach financially. We want to spend our money on activities and art to take home with us...not our accommodations. Here is the website...

Thanks for the information. I looked at the web site and it looked good. We are looking for a private pool. Can you tell me if this one is private or shared. Also do you know if it has air conditioning?

Once again thanks for the information.

Our son and his family stayed at Drake's Lookout over Christmas 2007. The loved the house but the pool was always shady and therefore to cold to use.

We stayed at Second Wind first week of December 2007. Loved it. It falls a little above the $2000 mark. 3 A/C bedrooms, private deck, pool, hot tub and a great view of Reef Bay. Some construction noise during the daytime hours. Didn't bother us as we were out playing while they were working.

We stayed at Bay House in March and its in your price range with what you are looking for with a private pool. Its not clothing optional private as Sea Biscuit, another villa for you to look at, has a sightline to the Bay House pool from an upper window.

We'll be there the first week of November. There will be a lot of folks we know on island that week, it should be a lot of fun. Stop by the Beach Bar Sunday 11/2 for the Sunday Jazz, there will be forumites form a couple of forums there on the beach.

Cheers, RickG

Check out this tight little place in Chocolate Hole within your budget and close to town.

I looked at the Arcadia villa in Chocolate Hole on the web and they have a special price of 1500.00 a week on it but not one is renting it is there something wrong with it?

Villa Cielomar has A/C in the master bedroom. The rest of the house has ceiling and osculating fans.

The pool is not private, it is share with 3 other smaller condos. But it has always been very quiet and enjoyable for us. Never a problem with the other places.

Hi - my husband & I stayed at St John Livin last May & I LOVED it - it is a quaint little house with a beautiful view from the deck/pool/jacuzzi - not entirely private, but not alot of neighbors! I would highly recommend it - the ride there is a little bumpy! Have fun! I am jealous - I wish I could be going now, but have to wait until Nov! 🙁
