Can anyone tell me if there is a grocery store in Cruz Bay? We will be spending 8 days there in April and would like to get our fresh food once we arrive.
Thanks!

The Starfish Market is in Cruz Bay - within walking distance of the dock. Your concierge should be able to assist you.

And... this is a very common confusion, but St. John's is in Antigua. St. John (no 's') is the United States Virgin Island. I am unsure of why, but many people say this, it must be published somewhere.

Just last week I heard from someone who told me that his guests were very disappointed to have to cancel a dinner party as they waited and waited for their friends to arrive at the Cruz Bay dock, only to discover the next day that their friends were in Antigua wondering where their ride was! True story.

Sure thing! Have fun on St. John! Towards the end of April you might be able to enjoy the Carnival activities like the Food Fair on St. Thomas. You can take the ferry to the waterfront and/or barge your car over if you'd like more freedom getting around from Red Hook.

Just to clarify,
I think the way the OP used.."St. John's" was fine...in that when something is possessive you add 's.
As in Jane's shoes, Mark's car...St. John's grocery stores.... 🙂
but I do understand your insight because there are MANY people who call St. John..."St. John's"...It makes me crazy too! lol 🙂

While the selection is good, be prepared to pay top dollar at the Starfish market, and probably other grocery stores as well. While there in January, we noticed that a head of cauliflower was $7.18!! Fortunately gas was only $2.36 per gallon a couple of weeks ago, so if you rent a car, you won't be spending an outlandish amount for gas. A block from the Starfish is a small food stand called Candi's Delights. They have good carryout BBQ ribs and chicken ($10-11 per order) which includes the best cole slaw I have had in a while. If you are planning to snorkel, you are in for a treat at a number of beaches. Be sure to go to Francis Bay. Out in the middle of the bay we say turtles and stingrays, and along the right shoreline were a lot of fish. Along the right shoreline at Caneel Bay there was good coral and fish as well.

Thanks!

Be prepared for MAJOR sticker shock at the grocery store in STJ. What would have cost me $25ish stateside was almost $80 at Starfish.

Buy in STT if you can, and bring it over. Otherwise, you have been warned.
