Hello. We will be staying in st. thomas and plan to rent a car. I've read various things about being able to take a car from st. thomas to st. johns. Do some car rental companies forbid this? Oh, and can someone tell me the approximate cost to take a car between the two Islands?

thanks!

There are several companies that do not allow their vehicles to be taken over to STJ - which ones exactly I don't know, but do a "search" as it has been discussed in length before. As far as cost there are 2 companies that charge $42.00 RT and 1 that is $52.00 RT, more for one way but I would suggest buying a one way ticket (more I know) but it opens up not being restricted to only that company as some run more frequently than others. Hope this helps.

We use Dependable Car Rental and do take it to St John. Word of note: A Jeep is easier when getting on and off the ferry. Have fun.
