Going for quick 5 day getaway. Deciding whether to rent a vehicle or not and where to stay. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

You need to provide a more complete picture. Do you want isolation, nature, shopping, nightlife, etc. etc.
Give us a target and we have a better chance of hitting the mark.

Hello,
Need more information to suggest places to stay as Chris indicated.
As for renting a car; it makes it so much easier to explore at your own pace and of course see more of the island(s). If you are staying at a resort or villa and plan to hang out there most of the time then a car for the whole time frame might not be necessary.
