We've always rented a vehicle on STT and used the car ferry to and from on our STJ trips. This trip we are going straight to Tortola after our week in STJ and, as such, we are going to take the passenger ferry over and rent in Cruz Bay. I'm interested in any recommendations on the STJ car rental companies for service,.location, condition of vehicles, price or any other factors that you may feel is important.

Thanks! 🙂

We have used both Sutton and C & C with no issues rates will be more expensive relative to STT but that's the price for local rental. Sutton is closer to the dock in Cruz Bay but both are in walking distance. Sutton cars seemed newer but that could be due to fleet rotation timing.

We usually rent from Penn's, but don't hesitate to rent from St John Car Rental if it doesn't work out with Penn's. We've had very good experiences with both. Both have lots where you're permitted to park while in Cruz Bay (if there's space---they're not guaranteeing that there will be). Vehicles are in good shape.

We rented from St John Car Rental, and they were great to work with and we always found a spot in their lot. You just have to make sure that you are there before 5 p.m. to pick up your car because they aren't as good as some of the other companies with after-hours arrangements.
