Hi, our group is arriving in St. John on Christmas Eve. We are wondering if there are food/liquor stores and/or restaurants open on Xmas Eve or Day. We are staying in Coral Bay.

Many thanks!

Yes all restaurants are open but make a reservation now. Stores will be open also but not sure what time they close (probably a little earlier than normal)

Pia
we arrive Christmas day in STT and taking the car barge over to STJ- do you think there are any grocery stores that will be open on Christmas day so we can stock up on a few things before heading over to STJ? thanks!

Plaza Extra in Tutu Park Mall is en route to the ferry terminal if you take Rte 38 out of town and it's open regular hours from early morning to late at night. You should find everything you need there.

Pueblo will also be open. There are 2 stores. One is nearby the airport and the other across from the gas station by Yacht Haven Grande.
Not particularly great grocery stores but they'll be open and you can get some supplies to see you thru. If I find that Cost U Less or Pricesmart will be open, I'll post it for you. Better stores and prices.
There's another large grocery store on the east end, whose name escapes me but they'll probably be open as Arab owned. High prices but good selections. They are across from the East End Boat Park, before Independent Boat Yard.

There are quite a few restaurants here in STT, that won't be open on Christmas. The ones that are will certainly be busy so make a reservation, in advance, if you planned on eating out. This will probably be true for STJ as well.

Have a lovely holiday.

You may wish to check the car barge schedule to make sure they have no changes for Xmas.

CostULess usually closes Christmas Day and the supermarket on the East end is Food Center - likely open as Alana said but considerably higher prices than Plaza or Pueblo.

Food Center is cleaner and has a great selection. I think for what Pueblo and Plaza Extra offer, the prices are pretty comparable.
Groceries are expensive here.
Bring your own spices in small zip lock buggies.
