Can you walk to the Charlotte Amalie ferry from the airport? The taxi drivers always give me the creeps. I know that is sad but always feel they are speaking fast to confuse their passengers. Anyone else feel this way?

Just asking.

Not me. I suppose you could walk from the Airport to the ferry, but it's not something I'd want to do.

It's a rather long walk. Why the taxi drivers would give you the creeps is beyond me. They're talking the way they normally talk and if you politely say to them, "I'm sorry, but could you talk a little more slowly because I'm having a hard time understanding you?" I would guarantee that nine times out of ten they'll accomodate you.

If you've visited here before then of course you understand the simple politesse of biddig someone a "Good Morning/Day/Evening" before asking any question?

You can't walk to the ferry, too far. I rented a jeep and took the car barge to St. John. $42 round trip. I think the taxi's all charge the same amount, though. It should be under $10 per person. The ferry is cheaper at Red Hook to go to St. John. Hope that helps. Have fun.

rent a car and them take the ferry to SJU. It is the cheapest way to go IF you are renting a car anyway.

YOU CAN NOT WALK

It would be a very far walk.

Your safer taking a taxi rather than walking. Anyway, it's too far, especially if you have a lot of luggage.
