GOOD LATE AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING 🙂 I know, I have asked about this before and it is posted on multiple forums (um, all with different thoughts, lol), so I figured I would check here again and be more specific. So, there are 2 of us, we have an entire full day or day and a half to explore depending how you look at it. LOL, in other words, we are not on cruise ship time limits. To try to cut this short and not do a lengthy post like I usually do, I was previously talked into the car rental for a day or two and loved that idea because we could do whatever we want. Well, something just occurred to me. I am the one that would be the driver, but I am also the one that is the "camera/video person" and we both want lots of pictures and video. Long story short, my traveling partner is extremely camera illiterate and in all honesty do not want them handling some of my "babies" 😛 That being said, I changed my mind and thought a tour/taxi would be a better idea. Well, I checked out the tours. Maybe I missed some but none of the several I checked out do what we want to see. So the taxi idea from place to place came up. Well, I have read many posts from tourists on multiple forums that said they had no problems getting to and from where they wanted to go, but yet the locals of STT also posted in these forums saying it is very difficult to do that and the wait time is extremely long. This puts me back at step zero. I am torn between all 3 choices - many taxis, a tour, and just renting a car but we will miss out on a lot of photo/video memories. Here is what we want to do and if you happened to be so kind to read through my babbling we are open to any suggestions: Staying at Emerald Beach. Figured we would wake up early and have breakfast and get going around 8 or 9 a.m. We want to head west, maybe do a quick stop at Brewers beach just to check it out and do not have to swim and lay around, more like a quick trip and maybe be lucky to see a plane landing if there are any that early. Then stay on the west and just check out the views and maybe make a quick stop at another beach like Stumpy that I posted about before. Then head to Mountain Top for another quick stop just to check out the view really and look around. Then go to the St. Peters Greathouse and we would probably spend some time there. The main key there is not being "rushed" to run through the thing. Depending on how long this takes it would be nice to go down to Magens for a bit, again just to check it out, maybe take a quick plunge into the water. After that head back to Emerald Beach and probably park the car so we can both try some drinks and take a taxi to the skyride and enjoy the sunset party from there. Also, there is only 1 cruise ship in on the day we want to do this.................. um, actually, after I typed all of this out I think half car and half taxi is the best idea and I will just attempt to train the non-camera user on how to use some of them when I drive in the morning and early afternoon 😮 😀

Renting a car gets my vote. Often you will find places to pull off the road and take pictures. If you choose the taxi you will be in a 12 passenger Van. No saying if you'll get a window seat. A tour sounds fun, but honestly the drivers just pull off at the same places you can in a car. And, you probalby won't get a tour of the west beaches with a group. Stick with renting a car.
