Sorry,
I know you probably answer the same question a million times...but...we changed our minds, and decided to first go to STX, spend a few days, then go to STT.
So where should we stay? Only requirement is a great beach.

Thank you!
Sandi

Price no object? The Bucanneer, hands down. Otherwise, try Hibiscus, Tamarind Reef, or Carambola. All have great beaches. Plan to rent a car. There's a lot to see.

SandiDee,

Hotel on the Cay supposedly has a very good beach. Convenient to shops and dining. Prices seem quite reasonable. We're getting there Sat night for a two week stay.

I found http://www.caribbeancottages.com in an online search. Even though I haven';t visited them, they sound fantastic and have a friendly owner who is happy to work with you (based on her responses to my email inquiries). Each stand alone cottage comes with a full kitchen and bedrooms (1-2), and the photo/map indicates they are right on the beach. Rates start at $95 a night.. If you stay here, please send a review as I won't be needing them until August, when I move to STX.

For your STT stay, I can't recommend the Secret Harbor Beach Resort ( http://secretharbourvi.com/ ) highly enough. We stayed there last December and it was fantastic. The hotel manager, Ernest, will do just about anything to make you at home and he has the mos amazingly helpful and friendly staff. They have 4 handicapped accessible rooms with wet bars and fridges (Ernest wrangled up a microwave for us to use) -- the rest of the units are condos with full kitchens. The best part is that the Resort is right on the beach and there are coral reefs right offshore that make for fantastic snorkleing. There is even a dive shop on site if you're intrested in taking adive (ask for Carl -- he's wonderful!) They also have a pool, jacuzzi, tennis courts and a restaurant -- the Blue Moon Cafe that has fantastic food. Lunch prices are reasonable, but dinner was a bit pricey. Room rates are very reasonable .

Have fun on your trip -- and be prepared to fall in love with the VI.

Have fun on your trip!

Call David or Motasem at the Pink Fancy www.pinkfancy.com for availability. Price upfront, pool, patio, comfortable.... Check out the website. 3-5 minute walk to the boardwalk. Great dining. Continental Breakfast....
You can still walk to the Protestent Ferry for an afternoon at the beach on the Cay. I would definately suggest doing the day tour with Sweeney Safari tours. He is great, knowledgeable and a good overview of the North to Northwest area. Includes trip to Fredricksted so you can see that area about 75-80 for a couple. See my premove visit by searching under Eve (my posts on the VImovingcenter board)
