Well we are thinking about going to St John again next June. There are only 5 of us this time. Any suggestions for a place to stay that is nice, reasonably priced and not close to town. We stayed at Coral Rays last time and loved it but with only 5 this time it is a little pricey for us.
Thanks ahead of time

If you want to be away from crowds and still have beautiful beaches--consider Water Island. Prices are more reasonable. There are no condos or hotels. There are several houses that rent when the owners are not on island.

Take a look at "Accommodations" under the Water Island section of www.vinow.com. Most houses come with a golf cart so you would not need to rent a car or pay taxi fares. It is easy to visit St Thomas on the public ferry that runs several times a day.

Water Island is beautiful, private, and pristine.

the best deal is if you or someone you know is a member of the Armed Forces Vacation Club. The AFVC member does NOT have to be present. They have a fixed weekly cost of $329.00 per week at a lot of condos here and on St. John or a higher cost when they listed as "High Demand Resorts". You do not have to be a member to browse what is available.

enjoy!
