One more question before we leave for STJ in a 2 more days.
Which beach and or other places do you recommend for a sunrise and a sunset viewing. As it is my delayed honeymoon... romantic would be great, but other places such as restaurants etc too.
Thanks!

Oooooooooh! I'd reccomend The Balcony in Cruz Bay for sunset. I've heard the food id great and Cruz Bay is the best place for sunset! Once the sun goes down, the lights on STT sparkle.

I guess any Cruz Bay restaurant with an ocean view would do but I heard The Balcony has a wonderful dinner.

We went to the Balcony last year and the view was beautiful (even though there was rain over St. Thomas) The food was great.

Does anyone know what a good spot for sunset would be on STT..I am guessing Frenchmans Reef or thereabouts..? Any specific 'spots'?

Oh, yeah, almost forgot...

Sunrise can be had on the Coral Bay side of the island but not sure from which beaches or spots. Hubby and I had a cottage on Calabash Boom and enjoyed the sunrise every morning.

So, depending on where you are staying, you'll be able to view at least one of them from your own deck or patio. Heck, from some places, you can view both!

I prefer the sunset over the sunrise but also prefer Coral Bay over Cruz Bay. Darn it! The things we struggle with while vacationing in paradise......

9 months to go (good lord...)

I've read that Chateau Bordeaux is one of the best for views and food.

St. John restaurants.com said "Although this location does not offer a direct sunset view but rather a moonrise, it is one of the most romantic settings on the island. An intimate mountain home with hard wood interiors and large windows that help reveal a majestic Coral Bay view."

Foders said, "This rustic restaurant with a to-die-for view of Coral Bay is made elegant with lace tablecloths, candlelight, and stylish dinner presentations."

A read a trip report where a couple on a budget spent their honeymoon dinner there. They said it was worth every penny.

Reservations are a must the phone # is 340/776-6611

I finally found the web site I saw. Here try this:

Enjoy. Can't wait to read your trip report.

I was just at Frenchmans reef a few weeks ago, and the sunset isn't that good there. Water Island and the west end of STT kind of block the view. It wasn't bad, but I'm sure there is a better spot.
