I know I said I was done planning, but in my research to make sure I wanted to take the ferry to Jost instead of a day sail (I do.), I noticed that most of these companies offered a sunset sail. That sounds very nice.

I just don't know if I want to do on a sailboat or on a catamaran. I don't know what company to go with either.

Does anyone have any recommendations or any thoughts on sailboat vs. catamaran? I see there are great sails around St. John and St. Thomas. So many choices, and I don't have an opinion on any of them...

Thanks!

That sounds excellent, Ed. I am going to get in touch with them!

I can't believe I never thought of doing this before. It just seems like a great trip!

Your on the right track. We took the Ferry to Jost and missed the ride back, slept on Ivan's beach. Good Times, great adventure, but won't take a ferry again due to the time constraints. Would be much better to charter a sailboat. Good luck.

I'm still taking the ferry to Jost. After looking over every itinerary for every boat (and the rates!), the ferry still makes the most sense. I think the key is making friends with your taxi driver on Jost. There are a lot worse things than sleeping at Ivan's for the night, and I'm sure he'd be glad to have us!
