Sunshine Mall - STX

We noticed Sunshine Mall near Fredricksted on our last trip to STX. My wife read somewhere that there are not really any big stores there but mainly shops run by some of the locals. Is this true? What type shops are there and can tourists shop there and not feel out of place?

Sunshine Mall has a Kmart and a dozen or so smaller shops. About half of the inside stores are empty. More people shop at Sunny Isle, which is doing well. Both are nice places to shop.

Sunny Isle is roughly in the center of the island on Centerline Road (Queen Mary Highway).
