am considering taking position in ST,....so many questions..........today i need help with clarification on taxes. I was told that there would be no income taxes but am reading that we would have to pay the same amt income tax (just paid to VI govt instead of FED govt). could someone PLEASE clarify this as it is a major consideration (with lower rate of pay and higher cost of living). thank you

Yes we pay taxes. And yes, it's to the VIBIR (virgin islands bureau of internal revenue). Medicare and social security withholding/taxes still go to 'the states'.

As you are considering relocation you will get more specific assistance on the Relocation Forum. I suggest you post there.
