Does anyone know if the ferry is running from Char. Amalie to St. John island this week? I am there on Sept 11th and was hoping to catch the ferry from Char. Amalie instead of going to Red Hook.

Apparently it's not. You could double check by calling the ferry operator directly (see ferry schedule top right under "Quick Links").

You're much better off going to Red Hook. The Charlotte Amalie ferry is very unreliable during the off season, IMO.

Both ferry companies are running as advertised and according to their schedules from Charlotte Amalie to Cruz Bay:
Don't know why people can't call to find out for themselves.

See the link on the top of page

Piaa on STJ reported a few days ago that according to signs on the ticket booth, the St John/Charlotte Amalie service has been suspended temporarily - not uncommon at his time of year. As I said earlier, it's best to check where that run is concerned.

Yes Pia, I fully comprehend but since I called yesterday to find out what both companies were doing, as I suggested, others do, I was told they are functioning on the said posted schedules for both ferry companies on the STJ to town runs, presently.
