Well, originally our June trip was to include me, my, my two children (one of whom will be 17 and is 6'2 so I don't think he counts as a child) and maybe his 17 yr old, also 6,2 friend. Now, my dad has decided to join in. So, we have a group of 6.

Anyway, the original plan was for two weeks on STT. But, the hotel, after taking my reservation and after I booked 6 plane tickets, called me back to say that they had made a mistake and didn't have any availability for 1/2 of my time booked.

Ok, so I moved to plan B and started to seriously look at villas on STJ and was able to secure a great one - CaliCaribe. But, I was still left with one day where I did not have a hotel. My parents decided, after the villa stay on STJ, to return to STT and stay at a different hotel until my dad flies back mid-week to return to work(before my mom, who will fly back with us). So, the kids and I discussed it and decided to do something crazy with the one day - something we wouldn't normally do since we have an opportunity to experiment for one night - we decided it was fate! LOL.... We're going to JVD to spend 1 night at Ivan's White Bay Campground so that we can experience Jost after the daytrippers have all gone...and since that will be Saturday night, we'll be able to go to Foxy's for the barbeque. Has anyone every stated in one of Ivan's beach huts? I called yesterday to reserve a hut, but think I may need two because it sounds like there is only one bed per hut. We'll arrive by ferry by 9am Saturday morning and leave at 3p Sunday afternoon.....to full days of Jost. I think it WAS fate!

Get two - they are primitive but incredibly fun! Ivan is a character who will entertain you if you wish or leave you alone if you prefer. You can also take a hike down to Soggy Dollar/Sand Castle. Have a fun time!
