...Pat and I are off to rid the islands of all the Cruzan we can. Thanks to everyone for all the helpful information and kind words in the face of my stupidity and repetitiveness.

Here's to our first VI trip and all of you that helped get it off to a great start. We'll check back in with pics after the 4th.

I'll be just another hillbilly in paradise.

While you're checking out the Cruzan rum, make sure you give all the flavors a chance. Vanilla and pineapple mixed together makes a great cocktail. Also, you may try the local favorite, that being a bushwhacker. Goes down like a chocolate milkshake.

Enjoy your inaugural trip! Have fun, relax, have a painkiller and bushwhacker (or 10).

I am so envious as I am heading off to Disney World with the kids and my parents tomorrow! I will need all the Cruzan you can bring back after the 4 theme park-packed days I have in store. Oh well, next year will be the VI's for us all!

I'm more of a traditionalist... dark or spiced rum, tonic and a twist of lime. I have a hard time doing session drinking with sweet or flavored rums. Exception: Pain killers. Got hooked on those at the Annapolis Sailboat Show.

The Vanilla Killa -- a Painkiller made with vanilla flavored Cruzan -- is not to be missed!

Don't forget, you each get to bring back at least six bottles of Cruzan.

I'll be leaving on Thursday as well. This will be my 4th trip to the Islands, but I feel like I know the area so much better after reading all the information shared by the other participants in this forum. Thank you to Marty, StThomasResident, and everyone else who took the time to respond to my questions about dining, sailing, etc. I will be back with a trip report in two weeks...

DH and I had a wonderful bartender who gave us the misx for the bushwacker... my personal favorite (If I'm gonna drink a chocolate flavored milkshake it might as well be all...) Holy... Get the recipe and you will know... If you can sweet talk a bar tender into it (the original which is about 200 dollars worth of booze on the mainland from affees) add a banana... Exxxsaaatttcyyy. Yum...
If not well, the second best is in a blender one cup malibu rum, one cup milk, three good scoops chocolate ice cream, two banana...Blend... Fill to top with ice... Blend again and wallllllaaaa; chocalate dipped frozen banana from a theme park that doesn't melt on your hands. another personal yummmm!
