Wow, the trip was fantastic!!! Here is my overview..........
Day 1 - A wonderful welcome at the airport! Music, free drinks, and friendly people! What a great way to start the vacation! Took a taxi from the airport, and it was weird being on the left side of the road! The owners of the Campground met us on arrival at Water Island when we got off the ferry and we headed up to our cottage/tent! Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful view, trade winds, hottub, and an awesome grill! And it is sooo secluded! Went to pick up some groceries (at Gourmet Gallery) and then relaxed and enjoyed the evening on the porch! What a view! The water is so clear and blue, I still can't believe it. Oh, and Tickles is a great place to pick up some drinks while waiting for the ferry!!! I totally recommend the bushwacker!

Day 2 - Relaxation! Just sitting relaxing on the porch listening to the ocean is incredible. And falling asleep to the sound is so peaceful! Went down to Honeymoon beach for some snorkeling and swimming. Was very cool! Had lunch at Heidi's, very yummy!!! Watched the pirate ship tour come in, I liked the pirate ship! Honeymoon beach is wonderful! There were at most 10 - 15 people there and it is a beautiful place! After our day at the beach we relaxed at the cabin and watched the sunset and stars!

Day 3 - Another relaxing morning with some coffee and relaxing on the porch with breakfast! Soooo nice! I think that is the most relaxed I have been in an age! Took a nice island walk around Water Island! Explored the Fort which was really cool! Followed the directions I got from the discussion board, so thank you to everyone! After exploring around the island ended up on Honeymoon beach adn hung out until after sunset. Then we went back to the campground for a nice grilled dinner! After that back to the porch with the wonderful view! The lights from Saint Thomas and from the cruise ships leaving are really neat!

Day 4 - Went to Saint Thomas to explore a little bit! Took the Safari Bus for a few dollars to Coki Beach! It was a little confusing to get the hang of the taxi service but by the end of the trip we had it down pat! Coki beach was really nice and had some nice snorkeling! Got to just relax in the sun for awhile and just enjoy the view! It was a fun time! Got a taxi (a regular one) back and he stopped off at a lovely scenic spot on our way back and we could see all of Water Island! It was such an awesome view! We shopped at Pueblo's and found the prices there to be a bit better than gourmet gallery. It is a bigger store, but you do have to go a little farther to get there than to Gourmet Gallery. Headed back to Water Island and enjoyed dinner and some relaxation!

Day 5 - Parasailing day! Deb, one of the campground owners, made us reservation for 2:00 so we relaxed in the morning and then headed out for parasailing. The boat met us right at the ferry dock on Water Island, so we didn't even have to leave the island! Not only that but we were the only two people on the boat!! We just had watched them drop off a full boat of people too! It was alot of fun and quite the adventure! We got dipped in the water and I got to try driving the boat! It was pretty great, an experience I will not forget! Then, back to Water Island. We went to the movie on the beach that evening! What a great atmosphere, and the movie was good too! We saw the bucket list. What was neat is that the community all was there just relaxing on the beach watching the big screen! Just like a drive in, except tropical style!

Day 6 - Checked out St John a little bit! Went to Trunk Bay. It was beautiful on St John. I would not mind spending a week there sometime. You definately need a car there though. We took the taxi service but I can see where one would want to have a car if you planned on staying there for a longer time. We snorkeled and they had underwater plaques to learn about the reef! It was alot of fun and we even got to see the stands for the carnival! What timing! Met some really great people and had a fun day!

Day 7 - Went shopping for the tourist stuff on Saint Thomas! We tried earlier in the week but alot of the shops close right at 5:00 so we had missed it the previous trip. Went to tickles for drinks and to get a water island t-shirt! The only place we saw them was there! Went back to Water Island and up to the fort to watch the sunset from there! It was fantastic! Such a beautiful view! After dinner we enjoyed the hottub and then relaxed!

Day 8 - Went down to Limestone Bay to check out the "stuff" that washes up ashore there. Was a neat trip. Had to pack up, our last day! Boo! Enjoyed relaxing and being on the Island for the morning then we headed out to the airport!

All in all, Water Island was the perfect place for us! It was so beautiful and quiet! So sad to have left! We want to go back!! Oh, and Hi to rockydock who we happened to run into! Thanks for your hospitality!! Everyone we met was so nice and friendly!

I want to post sone pictures but I am not sure how to ! If someone could let me know how I will put up some pictures for you all to check out!!!!

So glad that you had such a wonderful time. Attitude plays such a big part in what we get out of something and yours was so positive. I stopped counting the number of times you said relax. Hope you are planning a return soon.

Wonderful report! As posted, your attitude made the vacation successful. I love it! We've been tossing around the idea of visiting Water Island for @ 2-3 years, and your post is very convincing for us to give it a whirl.
Movies on the beach?!? How cool is that?!?
I'm so happy for you! See you on the beach!

Tony and Stacey, thanks the great trip report. Both of you added to the charm of Water Island with your great attitudes and sense of adventure. Everyone could tell you were having the greatest time just by the constant smiles on your faces. Just for your information, your flowers floated back to shore! See you soon.

I just want everyone to know that when I met Tony and Stacey, three days after their arrival, they were already thinking of ways to move here permanently. Not the first visitors to come under this spell, for which there doesn't seem to be a readily available cure. Keep on dreaming, and see if your dreams do come true.

For anyone interested in visiting Water Island, here are two web sites for you to look at that will provide more information and perhaps answer some of your questions:

http://www.waterislandwica.com/

http://sites.google.com/site/water-island-rocky-dock/

Hope this helps.

Heading back to STT in end of October and have a Sat-Sat week at Blue Beard's where I've stayed before. We can get a much better airfare flying mid week, so am considering staying on Water Island for the Friday before and the Sat night after. Anyone stayed at the camp ground there? I've stayed at Cinnamon Bay on STJ and love it.

dirtydeeds - see the first part of Stacy's trip report, she mentions staying at the campground. Pretty sure there is only one on Water Island.
