Today was the best day of our whole trip. We were able to visit the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Morning came very fast after spending a great day on STJ. It was probably the one day I wished we didn’t have to get up early. All 6 of us (in one car again) were off to the National Park dock to Meet Josh our captain of Lion in Da Sun. We loaded up around 8:30 and were on our way after doing a little paperwork. Our first stop was Henley Cay. It was a beautiful place, calm and made for easy snorkeling for everyone.

Next we were off to Jost to clear customs if you can call it that. We made our way to Foxy’s for a drink while Josh went to clear customs for us. We saw Foxy’s dog relaxing in the sand. It was early and Foxy’s was dead. We all decide we were ready to take off. We got back on the boat and broke out the drinks on our way to Sandy Spit. We called them the 10:00 surprise. The guys had made them the night before when they were all “half in the bag.” Believe it or not they were awesome. No complaints from anyone.

We headed over to Sandy Spit. We all loved this place. We were told this was the spot the Corona commercials were filmed. I guess Seinfeld filmed an American Express commercial here as well. The island is beautiful. 2 people in our group decided to snorkel while the rest of us just lounged on the beach. I stayed in the boat for a while and talk to Captain Josh. I finally decided to swim ashore by myself and join everyone else. We weren’t too far from shore. I didn’t grab a noodle or anything in case I got tired. Big Mistake. I swam what seemed like forever and got no where. I finally swam back to the boat and Josh threw me a noodle. Ok that was about the end of my life. I thought it wouldn’t have been such a bad place to end up, but I still had several days left of vacation . I’d rather not drown today! I spent some time just lounging on the beach, walked around the island and eventually made my way back to the boat. One person in our group actually saw a huge lobster while snorkeling. This was her first snorkel trip. She was so excited. We have had some pretty funny stories about that big fella!

We all decide it was lunch time so we headed over to Taboo. The food was good. I can’t remember exactly what everyone had, but I know burgers, fish sandwiches, shrimp, and pizza were on our table. Everyone really enjoyed their lunch here. It was pretty speedy considering we were on island time.

Our group

Our next stop was White Bay. I think the guys enjoyed this spot the most. Josh pulled the boat really close to shore, he probably thought he’d have to rescue me otherwise. We all swam to shore for a relaxing afternoon on the beach. A couple of the guys took a little cat nap in the hammocks. My hubby and I went to the Soggy Dollar for a drink. It was a great place. It had something for everyone. Looking back we all agreed we would spend more time here on our next trip.

Our little snorkel girl wanted to get in one more dip before our trip was over. We decided to go back toward USVI check in through customs and spend the rest of our time snorkeling. Customs in the US is way different than the BVI’s. We all had to go in, stand in line and show that our faces matched our passports. This was not the place for any monkey business. You could hear a pin drop in there. I was happy to get out of there.

Josh took us over to a spot called Christmas Cove. Hubby and I just floated around on a tube and everyone else snorkeled. It was such a relaxing, yet tiring day. It was getting late and time to head in.

We were all tired and ready for a shower. We headed back to Villa Jamie where we fixed our most gourmet meal of the trip. HaHa! Grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, they have never tasted so good! We had planned to go over to the North Drop, but it was closed on Monday.

Sorry guys some of these pictures didn't post in the right spot. Picture #2 & 5 are supposed to be up with the 1st paragraph. Who knows why #5 is posted twice.

I feel all of your pain. We were just reminiscing last night. We were at Indigo eating dinner one month ago. It is so hard to be away. I am already working on our trip for next year. Another trip to plan takes away a little of the pain.

cocosmom- Why is it that we ended up living in a place so far from the ocean???? We have a one acre pond in our backyard. My husband was out there the other day and said this old brown pond just isn't what we were used to looking at. I had to smile. I think he loves the USVI just as much as I do. When we went to STT in 2005 I said I'd never go back. My oh my how things have changed.
