USFSC ANNOUNCES
“JUST PLAY" FIELD DAY IN ST. JOHN

IN ST. JOHN, USVI

7/31/09

On October 12th, 2009- Using Sport For Social Change will hold their first “Just Play” field day for youth 18 years and younger in Cruze Bay, St. John.

While the details are still being finalized, this free event will consist of both individual and team sports, for youths 18 years and younger.
The idea of this event is to introduce kids to some sports that they may not have ever played before, in a team and individual environment.
The event will consist of “stations” that each participant will need to go through in order to compete for prizes. Individuals will be competing against, and with other youth in their same age range. We will even have a group of 2-4 year olds (accompanied by their parent) that will be entertained throughout the day with age appropriate games and activities. Please see the website: www.usingsportforsocialchange.com and upcoming newsletters for more details once they become finalized.

We are looking for sponsors for this event that will help with donating some of the items on the below list. While these items are deemed necessary, anything donated off the list would be appreciated as well. Cash is also in dire need as we feel that even though a lot of things will, and have been donated, there will of course be a need to purchase some items that are not donated. Everything is being run through the St. John Community Foundation so that any donations can be written off.

In return for any support that you may provide us with, we will be happy to place your logo on the banners, t-shirts, fliers and posters that we will be producing. I will also put your logo and link to your website on our “Supporting Sponsors” page on my website. Please contact me at [email protected]

Here is the list. I hope you can help in some way.

1. We still need food and water donated for our event. Including fresh fruit and sandwiches for the youth and volunteers.

2. We need Clif bar (or equivalent) donations for our event

3. We need vitamin water or equivalent donated.

4. We need 5+ red rubber balls donated for our kick ball tournament during our event. These balls will then be donated to the schools and St. John Parks and Rec.

5. We need your support. Make a donation of any kind. We promise we won't turn you down

6. We are in need of affordable housing for some volunteers that will be coming from the mainland

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Dean Doeling
