Hi everyone, again,
I'm done !
I have searched ALL the sites possible in search of the perfect place for our vacation to St. Thomas & St. John in October.
I have read all the posts on the message boards going back as far as 6 months & have read that if I list the names of the villas I am interested in, that one or more of you may know something about the place. So the hope is that, that someone out there knows anything about these places & is willing to help out a fellow traveler who only wants the best possible time while away from all the stresses of our everyday world!.
Thanks for reading & thanks for any tips you may have for us first time travelers to the tropics.

(Not listed in any order of preference.)

"Monkey No Climb" listed through carefreegetaways.com
"San Costanzo" listed through seaviewhomes.com
"Spy Glass" listed through destinationstjohn
"La Bella" listed through vivavillas

Good Afternoon Bugaboo,

I know a "little something" about "Monkey No Climb" as I am the owner of the house.
I'm sure you have looked at the Carefreegetaways.com website and I could answer any questions you might still have. I just picked up the Certificate of Occupancy last month and the satellite TV and wireless Internet are just being hooked up by Sloop today. Our first renters are scheduled for late this month. The house is located near the very top of Bordeaux Mountain. You drive up from the Coral Bay/Island Blues area, up Bordeaux Mountain road. As we speak, they are actually paving a .3 mile section of Bordeaux Mountain Road up to the house. Once that is completed, the entire drive from Cruz Bay to the house will be paved. My wife and I have been traveling to St. John for twenty years (married on Hawksnest) and have rented MANY houses on St. John. We have tried to build a house which says West Indian Style and does not stick out from the mountainside. The views of Coral Bay and Hurricane Hole are quite nice. We are high enough that you can see part of Jost, Sandy Island, Tortola and down the entire passage to Virgin Gorda. We have a spa which looks out on Hurricane Hole towards the east. Believe it or not, on some evenings you might want a light sweatshirt, especially if there is a breeze. I don't know about October. There are A/C units in each bedroom and we have yet to use them. It is very quiet up there and most of the lots around the house have not been built upon. If I can be of any further service just type me.

😎 Hi Bart,
Thanks for your reply to my villa questions.
Your villa looks like it would suit our needs for a wonderful, (first time visit) to the islands.
We are coming down the end of September for a 2 week vacation get away!. We are planning on spending the bulk of our time on St. John. (as so many people on the boards recommend) We would like to see if your villa is open for us on October 2nd -the 10th. We will be checking out on the 11th:-(
How much would our final total be (if open) ?
Hope to hear from you soon. Then we can talk more
Cheryl

Hi Bart 😎
Thanks so much for reading my message about villas to rent on St John.
Your villa looks like it would suit our needs for a relaxing & wonderful vacation this fall.
We are planning a 2 week trip. We hope to spend the bulk of our time on St. John (per recommendation of the masses)
Would your villa be open to us for the dates of October 2nd thur the 10th, checking out on the 11th? 🙁
If so, what would our grand total (including all taxes & fees) be?
Hope to hear from you soon,
Cheryl

Good Afternoon Cheryl,

Isn't the Internet something. I doubt you were expecting the owner to answer your questions on-line.
When I got my first statement from Carefree it didn't show any reservations for 10/2-10/10/08. Since we are such a new house and I did not do the construction blog thing we are wide open at this point. The appliances, furniture and everything is brand new. The one thing I would like to see Carefree add to their website is a calander for everyone to be able to pull up the vacancies themselves. They are very nice people. We have another company called Cimmaron that would be picking you up at the dock, getting you the rental car and looking after the house. They are very nice people also. I figure your nine night total at $2,430. It is $250 per night times nine nights which is $2250 plus the 8% VI tax. You can verify all this when you call Carefree Getaways. We love the quiet, parking friendly Coral Bay side. There are some nice hiking trails and a couple of nice south shore beaches to use especially if the north shore beaches have waves. Big Belly Deli in the Cocolobo Shopping Center is price friendly with good portions. The first time I went to St. John I was hooked and my wife and I hope to live/work there for half a year in a few years. If you have any more questions just ask.
Regards
