Dear Abby

Actually there is some confusion regarding the Virgin Islands. We live in the United States Virgin Islands ,it has three main islands, St Croix, St Thomas and St John. They are all part of the USA (United States of America). However, just a few sea miles away the British Virgin Islands (the BVI) are a associated with England. they have Islands such as Tortola and Virgin Gorda.

However you asked which "virgin" island is half US and Half a different country. To my knowledge there are none. In the Caribbean you will find "multi national", split islands such as The Dominican Republic and St Martin (French and Dutch). You will even find an island ( Vieques ) that is often referred to as the Spanish Virgin. But it is not really part of the Virgin Islands.

Gambling is all to prevalent around the world.

All of the U.S. Virgin Islands are 100% owned by the U.S. Maybe you were thinking of St. Martin/St. Maarten?

Gambling is legal in the VI if the place has a license. Currently theonly licenses issued are on St. Croix. Unless you count the video crack machines! Good thing I finally broke THAT habit! Haha!
