Sad yes, strange no. This is a common occurrence around here and the BVIs. It's just not reported so often. Most have heart attacks while swimming, and end up drowning. Pretty good reason fro a buddy system. I know of one lady who posts on the other forum whose husband died while scuba diving in St Croix. Worst thing for her was no one she knew lived there to help her out in her time of grief. She met a nurse at the hospital that befriended her and they are now friends forever!

Good point Ronnie. I figured he had to have had a heart attack or seizure or something. I just visualize all of the people in the water from NH and imagine how likely is it that nobody noticed he was in trouble or couldn't pull him out of the water after he called out. I am not saying anyone is at fault - just trying to imagine how someone calls for help, is obviously in trouble, someone hears and notices that the person is in distress......and the person still drowns. It wasn't like the cause of death wound up being something else - it was drowning.

Life is so unpredictable!
