My wife and I are thinking of spending a day on Water Island? My question is are there any taxi cabs when you get off the ferry? My knees are a little shot and some days they bother me more than others?--Thanks, Bill

Hello BillR, there are no taxi's on Water Island. It's possible that you may be riding on the ferry with local resident who may offer to give you a lift to the beach. But, if you take the hill slow and steady, maybe your knees wouldn't mind so much. It's a relatively short walk from the ferry landing to Honeymoon Beach.

Honeymoon Beach is a calm bay with a sandy/grassy bottom. The best snorkeling areas are off to the sides along the rocks. There is a turtle that often hangs out around the right, second or third swimming buoy.

Water Island is basically a bedroom community of St Thomas. There are very limited commercial facilities, and there is NO public transportation. So, walking up and down the hilly roads is how you will get around.

Take a video hike to Honeymoon Beach on Water Island, provided by Colors of Paradise TV at VINow.com

Thanks for the Info--Looking forward to enjoying the day. We are arriving STT on July 13th and spending 9 days. My wife and I both love the Islands.
