Hey Y'all,
I have been reading this forum for quite some time now but------have been to shy to participate! So here goes. I will be staying on Water Island with my brother and parents for ten days 9/24-10/5. I have been coming to St. Thomas for the last 20 years so I have seen a lot of changes from the old airport on St. Thomas to the hotel on Water Island blown away by Hugo or Marilyn. Anybody from the forum or Water Island want to meet at Heidi"s Honeymoon Grill for lunch?

We'd love to but, we'll be on STT about a month after you. We spent our honeymoon at Sea Cliff DURING Hugo, we were some of the last guest's to stay there. We still enjoy taking a trip over and just hang out at Honeymoon Beach.

Enjoy.

You are going to love WI. WI has remained residential and unspoiled. Wildlife is abundant and beaches are private.

We will be down Sept 17-21. So we will just miss you. It is a great place to stay and get away from everything--esp the cruise ship crowds. It is VERY quiet down there right now. I hope the weather stays calm.

If you or your family are looking for a place to stay next time--check out www.slowmocean.com We have 2 houses we offer for rent on Water Island. We go down as often as we can. But since we cannot retire YET we rent out our houses.
A golf cart is included.

Have a great time!!

Sea Breeze, what age/sex are you? There's somebody new on island who might enjoy going over to WI, and it would be nice if they could have someone to talk to!

SeaXXX, there's going to be a beach cleanup on the 29th on Water Island, and they're looking for volunteers. Your family may want to join them/us. You can call Lillian Moolenaar at 340-774-3320 for details.

Carolina,

The pics of the house are great. We are booked on STJ for Nov of this year, but will consider Water Island for maybe a week next year. I have to have my fix on STJ however.

Karen,

To answer your question, I am a Empty Nester Mom of 2 boys in college! That should give a hint to my age.

As to the beach cleanup on Honeymoon beach scheduled for the 29th I'll keep that in mind. If we don't have other plans I think it would be a great way to meet people and do good for the environment.

We just got back from Water Island last night. The weather was wonderful and the water was very clear. No storms in sight! No bugs either.

The island was very quiet. Very few people on the beach. Ideal get away for those who want privacy. Heidi cooked on the beach Wed and Fri afternoons and is scheduled to do lunch and dinner Sat. On Monday the24th there is a drive in movie scheduled to be shown on Honeymoon beach. They stretch a sheet between two palms and project a movie. Residents and guests pull up in golf carts. It is great fun.

It will be past storm season soon. Our houses are avialable for quests when we are not down there.--check out www.slowmocean.com
